Drilling Oil and Gas wells is becoming increasingly strict environmentally, thus planning is vital, and it is felt that future environmental policies will become more demanding. MI Gulf Services offers superior process system solutions including closed loop drilling waste management systems. These systems can eliminate the need for reserve pits and can be designed to process a wide variety of drilling fluid types. We work with our customers to specifically design customized systems to improve safe operations and minimize the footprint normally required on most locations.

The custom designed “Closed Loop Mud System” can include a combination of Solids Control and Waste Management equipment including processing tanks, centrifuges, drying shakers, cuttings dryers, cuttings tanks, and all support equipment necessary. Our goal is to provide our customer with the most efficient closed loop system and a focus on safety that is second to none in the industry.

The system allows for cuttings to be disposed of and minimizes the liquids in those cuttings being hauled away for disposal. As a result, cleaner drilling fluids are recycled back into the mud system allowing for reduced product usage and cost to the operator. Our closed loop mud systems are also designed to keep low gravity solids to a minimum, this is essential for achieving optimal rates of penetration, lower maintenance costs on drilling equipment, increased drill bit life and maintaining drilling fluid properties within acceptable parameters.

The MI Gulf Services Solids Control and Waste Management equipment utilized in the closed loop process has proven successful in maintaining mud system rheology, reducing waste volumes and recycling most types of drilling fluids.
