Environmental Drilling Waste Management
As part of our focus on sustainability and protecting the environment, MIGS is able to provide a selection of equipment packages and fluids systems that are engineered according to the customer’s needs both on and offshore to minimize environmental impact, maintain performance and reduce disposal costs.
Zero Discharge Custom Designed packages
The system is able to provide an alternative to the currently used containment methodologies that is both more environmentally friendly and reduces manual handling. It combines powerful pneumatic vacuum systems in combination with bulk tank system. The system can be applied to many offshore operations where the traditional skip and ship option or cuttings reinjection are not feasible.
Dewatering
The Dewatering Unit (DWU) is a self-contained, portable system that minimizes waste volume from “closed loop” drilling operations, reserve pit closures, and site remediation projects.
The DWU is used with one or more Decanting Centrifuges as part of the Chemically Enhanced Dewatering (CED) process to treat from 50 to 350 barrels of fluid per hour. The liquid phase can be less than 1% total suspended solids to relatively solids free, depending on the type of feed fluid and degree of clarity required.
Cuttings Dryer
This is the industry’s most recognized & reputable Vertical Cuttings Dryer (VCD) available in the market. No other VCD has achieved more success or recovered more drilling fluid, than the WSM-04 cuttings dryer. Typical rig shale shaker cuttings have an average between 15% to 20% OOC. When properly managed, the dryers can lower the OOC below 5%. This can be done while managing up to 40 to 60 tons per hour of drilling cuttings. The cuttings dryer produces lower waste volumes by generating dryer solids with all Oil Based Mud systems. Reducing the waste volume reduces disposal costs.
High G Dryer
The High “G” Dryer (HGD) achieves maximum liquid/solid separation in large-volume processing. This gives operators a critical advantage in meeting increasingly stringent environmental rules for cuttings disposal.
Screen sizes available from API-10 to API-325
The capacity of the HGD, in terms of volume of cuttings handled, goes up to 30 tons of cuttings per hour. This means that the unit can handle a 17 ½” hole with a ROP of 200 ft/hr. The unit is complete with an air operated pump that returns the recover fluids from the 2m³ oil recovery tank back into the system.
